The Will of John Nixey

Dated 21st October 1758 and Proved 7th April 1759

In the Name of God Amen   I John Nixey the Elder of the Parish of Cuddesden in the County of Oxford Yeoman being weake in Body but of perfect mind and memory do make and Ordain this my last Will and Testament in maner and form following and first I give and bequeath my Soul into the hands of Allmighty God that gave it hoping for Salvation in and through Jesuss Christ my Saviour and Redeemer my Body I commit to the Earth to be decently interd at the discretion of my Executor hereafter named and as for such worldly Estate goods and Chattles that it hath pleased God to bestow on me I dispose of as followeth   Imprimis I give ^and bequeath^ to my Daughter Mary Webb Wife of William Webb of Cuddesden aforesaid one Shilling   Item I give and bequeath to my Daughter Ann Rippington Wife of Thomas Rippington of Waterperry one Shilling   Item I give to my Grandson John Nixey five Pounds of good and lawfull money of England   Item I give and bequeath to my Grandson William Nixey five pounds of like lawfull money all which leagacies my Will is Shall be paid within one year after my decease   Item all the Rest of my Goods and Chattles Ready moneys waring Apparell and whatsoever I shall be possessed of at the time of my discease I give and bequeath to my Son John Nixey whome I likwise Constitute and make my full and Sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament Revoking all other Wills before by me made in witness whereof I have hereunto Sett my hand and Seal this twenty first day of October in the year of Our Lord – 1758

This will was Proved att Cuddesden the 7th Day of April 1759 Before the Reverend R. Bricknel MA Surrogate to the Worshipful Geo: Hay Doctor of Law Official Principal of the Revd the Archdeacon of Oxon lawfully appointed by the Oath of John Nixey being sworn well and Faithfully to Administer &c
